Geir took up the reins of DNV Supply Chain & Product Assurance (SCPA) as its CEO in March 2023, prior to which he was the Director of Offshore Classification in Maritime. He brings more than 20 years of experience and expertise in consultancy, business development and leadership working with international customers globally.
Geir joined DNV in 2006. He has worked with major shipping and offshore companies, oil majors, and governmental authorities around the world. He has been involved in projects related to operational excellence, safety, energy efficiency, emerging green technologies, offshore aquaculture, and renewables, and has been involved in shaping digital strategies. Geir has held leadership roles in Southeast Asia and the Middle East & Africa over a ten year period.
Geir holds a Master of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and University of Glasgow, and a Graduate Diploma in International Business from the University of Auckland. He has an avid interest in the disruptions brought about by emerging technologies as well as new regulations and their impact on trends in global economy.
