Kjersti Stenseng

The Minister of Labour and Social Inclusion, Kjersti Stenseng, is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. She has been serving as Minister of Labour and Social Inclusion since September 2025.

Stenseng is the former party secretary of the Labour Party, a position she held from 2015 to 2025. From February to September 2025, Stenseng served as Minister of Local Government and District Affairs. She was state secretary in the Ministry of Culture from 2012 to 2013.

Stenseng holds a cand.mag. degree in political science and history. She has held several leadership roles, including director of the Peer Gynt Play at Gålå from 2001 to 2009, managing director of the Norwegian Festival of Literature in Lillehammer from 2010 to 2011, and head of HR and volunteer management for the 2016 Youth Olympic Games from 2013 to 2015.

She has also served as a member of the municipal council and executive committee in Sør-Fron from 2007 to 2011, and she was the first deputy representative to Stortinget for the Labour Party in Oppland from 2013 to 2017. She was also a political adviser in the Ministry of Culture in 2010 and leader of the Oppland Labour Party from 2010 to 2014. Since 2011 she has been a member of the Labour Party’s central board.
